Stuart Kelly has extensive experience as a teacher of English to speakers of other languages. He
has taught for many years in Europe, Asia and the Far East and has twice been honoured for his work in the People's Republic of China.
In 1994 Stuart received an honorary award from the governor of Yunnan Province and in 1995, Tangshan Municipal People's
Government awarded him the official title of Excellent Foreign Expert.
After graduating with honours in Psycholinguistics from the University of Essex, Stuart obtained his teaching qualification (CTEFLA) at the
International Language Institute in Leeds and a Postgraduate Certificate with Merit in TESOL and Applied Linguistics from the University of Bradford.
During the course of his later studies, he pursued an interest in the use of ICT as a
language teaching resource.
As a
Registered Mental Nurse,
Stuart has a long-standing interest in the language of psychosis
and has made a special investigation into the use of language by people suffering from
Schizophrenia
. More recently, Stuart has turned his attention to the communication problems experienced by elderly people with dementia.
